Hardwood, Tile, Carpet: A Complete Home Renovation

This was a floor installation done as part of a complete home renovation.

The challenge that the interior designer posed was to create a square-tiled front entrance, square in appearance to the walls (i.e.: the walls were not straight) and then install the hardwood so that the hardwood lines were parallel to the length of the room. Most walls are not square to each other or straight and when you are working with square material and creating dimensionally square features, it does pose a challenge.

The starting point was the tiled feature at the front entrance and then we progressed from front door to the back of the house with the hardwood installation. As we progressed, we did have to deal with other partitions and walls that were not square or parallel.

The carpet installation was the final floor covering once all the trades were out of the house.
