Laminate

Laminate floors are made of synthetic materials such as wood pulp and resin, and have a layer on the surface that simulates the finish of hardwood or tile. They “click” together with very little effort and are quite easy for anybody to install, even non-professionals. They can be installed over-top of an existing floor (although you often have to remove and re-install the baseboards).

Laminate floors have to be installed on a reasonably-level surface. Laminate is not recommended for washrooms or other damp areas.
