Tub-surround

Schluter Systems - Innovative Installation Systems for Tile & Stone

It’s no secret that what cracks tile and grout lines is movement, however subtle.

Installing tile and stone correctly will ensure that you will not have cracked grout lines, cracked tile and other issues associated with movement and settlement of your home. Further, moisture-proof and vapour-proof installation, especially in wet areas of your home, will ensure that you will not have any issues with mold.

Two custom-designed bathrooms with a shower

We installed tile in two bathrooms in this house. Both bathrooms used the same 12-inch–by–12-inch tile with irregular finished edges on the floors and walls.

The second-floor bathroom had a jacuzzi-style tub. The tile on the walls around it was topped with 6-inch tiles with the same colour and texture, rotated diagonally.

The second-floor bathroom also featured a custom-built walk-in shower with a bench. The floor in the bathroom was laid out in a mosaic, using trim cut from other tiles used during the installation.

This installation shows a new home where the floor tile was used in a creative way to provide an attractive soaker tub surround with a matching border. The same floor tile was also used on the wall in the shower unit with a feature border. This provided a very creative and unique colour coordinated washroom.
