Carpet

Carpet

Carpet is by far the most cost-effective flooring material out there. The majority of carpet is made from synthetic materials, although wool carpets are available. No other material can beat the sound-absorbing characteristics and softness of carpet. Contrary to popular belief, people with concerns about dust and allergies can still choose carpet, as it will trap the particles, allowing you to vacuum it up when you clean your home.

Carpet is suitable for most areas of the home, except for washrooms and entrance-ways.

Why carpet is still a good choice of floor covering

Over the last decade, there has been a trend towards hard surfaces such as hardwood and laminate for the living areas of homes (for example, the living room, dining room, family room and even bedrooms).

Both hardwood and laminate have a cleaner, almost sterile (and sometimes cold) look. Maintaining these types of floors is easy with the right cleaning products, but they can suffer and show more of the progressive wear-and-tear of a busy home: pets, accidental spills, and dropping heavy, hard objects can damage these floors.

Cleaning up after holiday festivities

Hi, this is Gihan from Allied Flooring. I have decided to start a blog. My goal is to provide useful tips and information about products and looking after your floors.
