We installed a plush nylon carpet over an underpad in both the living area and bedroom of this apartment.

Cushioned vinyl installation on staircase and basement kitchen/diner

cushioned vinyl and metal stair noses on a staircase leading to basement kitchen area with dining table on new cushioned vinyl, viewed from doorway low-angle view of vinyl installed in kitchen from behind the table towards stove looking down a boxed staircase with vinyl floor, metal stair noses

This home had a side–entrance, with a stairway leading down to the basement. The staircase had previously been carpeted, but the customer wanted a more durable floor that was easier to keep clean (there was a lot of traffic from the outside).

We installed a new cushioned vinyl floor on the staircase and in the basement kitchen / dining room.

DuraCeramic & DuraPlank installation in walk–out basement

In this renovation, we removed the existing carpet to make way for a more–practical hard surface. The room was regularly used as an exercise area and for hosting occasional parties, so we knew that the Dura–range of Vinyl floor coverings was the ideal material.

The final step of a kitchen renovation which included a complete new floor, new kitchen cabinets and the final touch of a back splash. The tile was a 6”x6” tile with an uneven surface, which complemented the kitchen cabinets and the general layout and style of the home.

Hardwood in living room with stained to match staircase to 2nd floor hallway and hardwood in hallway

This design was challenging from a design perspective. The customer had a honey-stained red oak hardwood floor installed in most of the open-plan main floor and wanted a darker stain in the living room to better define the area. They did not like the old carpet on the staircase leading to the second floor, which also had a contemporary-style honey stain handrail and spindles. For consistency and balance, we installed the same stain in all the above areas receiving new flooring.

Custom–designed open wooden stairscase with metal spindles

Allied Flooring removed the existing staircase (which was boxed, closed and carpeted) and replaced it with a completely–new, open staircase leading to the second level. We also replaced the staircase leading to the basement.

Custom–stained stair cap and risers

For this installation, the challenge was to match the dark–stained oak paneling and trim used extensively throughout this home. This stain was the same stain used on the staircase’s handrail and spindles. The staircase previously had carpet, and we determined that staining custom-made stair caps and risers was the most cost-effective method of completing this installation.
